Ethiopian Regasa won the Vienna City Marathon

The winner of the 41st Vienna City Marathon (VCM) is Chala Regasa. The 26-year-old won on Sunday after a solo run from kilometer 30 with a time of 2:06:35. Regasa remained 1:27 minutes above the course record set last year by Kenyan Samwel Mailu. However, he became the first Ethiopian to win in Vienna since Sisay Lemma in 2015.

Meanwhile, Timo Hinterdorfer delivered a test of talent in the half marathon. The 19-year-old Viennese ran his entire race in the leading group, then turned off at half distance and crossed the finish line as the winner in a personal best time of 1:03:05.
