Erick Thohir Encourages Indonesian U-23 Team to Fight for Olympic Qualification

Qatar – PSSI General Chair, Erick Thohir visited the changing room for the Indonesian U-23 National Team players after losing to Uzbekistan 0-2 in the semifinals of the 2024 Asai U23 Cup Monday, April 29 2024 evening.

During his visit, Erick Thohir tried to ignite the enthusiasm of the Garuda Muda players. Especially looking forward to the next match in the battle for third place against Iraq.

For information, the Indonesia vs Iraq national team duel will be held at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Thursday 2 May 2024.

“This is an important second game that will ensure we can qualify for the Olympics, third place. Do we want to give up or do we want to fight back?” said Erick on his personal Instagram, Tuesday 30 April 2024.

“Fight back,” shouted Rizky Ridho and friends.

Erick said that Indonesia’s opportunity to bag a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics is still very wide open.

“Come on, come on, there is still (hope to win tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics) come on, come on,” he shouted.

Erick is very confident that Shin Tae Yong’s children can win third place and win tickets to the Olympics. This belief, he said, is because all levels of society, including President Jokowi, always provide support.

“Mr President (Jokowi) is watching you, all Indonesian people are watching you. “Let us see (to the world) that we are a strong nation that cannot be stepped on,” stressed Erick.

“Don’t complain, we are strong and we can fight back, come onit’s not over yet,” he concluded.
