VIVA – Indonesian national team defender, Elkan Baggott appeared impressive when strengthening his club, Bristol Rovers in the continued match of League One or the third caste of the 2023/2024 English League, Saturday 13 April 2024.

In the match which took place at Whaddon Road Stadium, Elkan appeared as a starter. He returned to appear after being sidelined due to injury.

Elkan Baggott played charmingly for 90 minutes. He was able to score one goal and performed solidly to help Bristol Rovers win 3-1.

This 21 year old defender scored the visitors’ third goal in the 77th minute. Elkan Baggott shook Cheltenham’s net with a header into the corner of the goal after welcoming a corner kick.

Previously, Bristol Rovers scored two goals through Scott Sinclair and Brandon Aguillar. Meanwhile, Cheltenham could only reduce the deficit through Liam Sercombe in the final minutes of the match.

This victory is the first for Bristol after last winning in early March.

Meanwhile, this duel is also the first time Baggott has appeared after missing five consecutive matches. Previously Baggott last played almost a month ago when Bristol lost 0-5 to Lincoln City.

Baggott played 90 minutes in the away match against Cheltenham. What’s interesting is that the home side was also strengthened by Baggott last season.

Cheltenham borrowed Baggott from Ipswich Town in the second half of last season, but they only played the Indonesian national team defender in one match for six months.

On the other hand, thanks to this result, Bristol rose to 15th in the 2023/2024 League One standings with a record of 54 points from 43 matches.

Meanwhile Cheltenham is in the relegation zone, 22nd with a score of 38 points, five points behind the safe zone.
