There was no feat in Act I of the women’s Swiss Basketball League final. This Sunday, in its Saint-Léonard hall, Elfic Friborg scored an authoritarian victory against Nyon (74-57). In addition to taking a first step towards a sixth consecutive title, Romain Gaspoz’s players remain undefeated nationally this season, championship and cups combined.

Defeated by Elfic in their six previous confrontations this season, the Vaudoises started the match on the right end: sovereign in rebounding (13 shots, against 7) and in shooting success (60%), unlike their opponent (only 35%), they were in the lead at the end of the first quarter (16-18). The two teams remained neck and neck, until Elfic opened a first gap just before mid-match (40-34). Nyon then lost control of the match and would not regain it again.

Act II of the series, played in the best of five matches, is scheduled for Wednesday evening in Friborg (8 p.m.).
