Dzierkal is just one step away from winning the Swedish championship

Šellefteo AIK, represented by Latvian forward Mārtiņš Dzierkals, beat Engelholms “Rogle” with Rodrigo Ābolas in the fourth match of the final series of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) on Saturday, coming one win away from the championship title.

AIK won 2:1 (0:0, 1:1, 0:0, 1:0) in the first extra time and reached 3-1 in the series up to four victories.

Andreas Jonsons scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute of the game.

In this match, Dzierkals was on the ice for 16 minutes and 41 seconds, scored five times, used one power play, had two penalty minutes and a neutral efficiency ratio. Abols played 23 minutes and 51 seconds, made two shots on goal, used three power plays, won nine of 24 shots and finished the game with a negative efficiency coefficient of -1.

“Rogle” overcame the semi-final series, defeating last year’s champion Vekshes “Lakers” in all four games, while Schellefteo AIK was superior to Gothenburg “Frolunda” 4-3.

Last season, Vekshe “Lakers” became the champions, which defeated Schellefteo AIK in the final series with 4-1.
