Double Delight: Italian Absolute A2 Fijlkam Championship and Fisdir National Team Head to Perugia

Double appointment with the Italian Absolute A2 Fijlkam Championship and with the Fisdir National Team

A historic May for the Umbrian judo movement which will lead Perugia to represent the capital of Judo for a weekend, that of 12 and 13 May, with a double appointment “Italian Absolute A2 Fijlkam Championship” and “Fisdir National Championship”.

In light of the successes and unanimous acclaim obtained from the latest editions of the “International Grand Prix Umbria Judo”, the Federation wanted to assign the Umbria Regional Committee the organization of even two top events in the Fijlkam competitive calendar.

President Prof. Andrea Arena speaks:

“It is a great proof of esteem and consideration that as the Umbria Committee we have managed to gain in recent years. The work carried out and the great credibility acquired on a national level has even brought two Italian Judo Championships to Perugia: Senior A2 and Fisdir. An unthinkable gamble until a few years ago, but thanks to the enormous support of the Municipal Administration and the support of President Ignozza’s Coni Umbria it was possible to achieve all this. This is the icing on the cake, the judo movement is growing as a result of the enormous commitment made by the Regional Council led by Robertino Camilli, by the work of the technicians of the Regional Technical Centre, by the promotion of the School Project which in a short time brought several Italian titles at youth level”.

The President of the Umbria Judo sector Robertino Camilli echoes:

“The commitment is perhaps greater than our possibilities but certain of the support of the Institutions and Clubs such as Consulta, we strongly wanted these Italian Championships to continue promoting our movement. In recent years we have recorded an increase in young national medalists in Umbria, a trend that we would even like to increase and this two days of high profile Judo can only enrich our kids. In all of this, however, let’s not forget the categories of pre-competitors, so we have included the “3rd Ernesto Giaverina Youth Criterium” in the event’s schedule, resulting from the historic collaboration with Csen Umbria.”

Conclude Andrea Arena:

“I would like to underline the important agreement between Fijlkam and Fisdir, the Italian Paralympic Sports Federation of relational intellectuals, which will bring the National Championship to Perugia. It will certainly be an exciting moment, demonstrating how our disciplines can be of important support in particular situations. The attention, care, professionalism of our technicians combined with the particular atmosphere that is perceived in our dojos, in our gyms, provides that added value for certain special conditions and certainly at Palabarton, in May, it will be a great party for everyone”.
