Djokovic, oldest world number 1 in history

Already the holder of 24 Grand Slams, Novak Djokovic has added a new line to his record by becoming today the oldest world number 1 in professional tennis.

Present on the courts of Monte-Carlo, Novak Djokovic has just obtained a new record. Already holder of the greatest number of weeks as world number 1 (419), the Serbian has just become the oldest world number 1.

Born in 1987, “Nole” is now 36 years and 321 days old. He overtakes Roger Federer who himself dethroned André Agassi in 2018! The Serbian, however, is going through a bad patch with his defeat at the Australian Open against Jannick Sinner, and his elimination at Indian Wells by world number 123 Luca Nardi.
