The Mexican Diego Cervantes won the silver medal in the Pan American Fencing Pre-Olympic Tournament, which takes place in Costa Rica, after losing this Sunday in the foil final against Schembri Kruz, from the Virgin Islands, by 15-13. He was one step away from qualifying for Paris 2024.

In turn, Fernanda Morales, a sword specialist, ended her participation in said competition after losing in the quarterfinals to the Canadian and number one seed Ruien Xiao by 15-6. While Julieta Toledo lost 15-12 in the quarterfinals in saber against the Dominican Valentin Heyddys.
