Detroit Pistons to Sign Jaylen Nowell to 10-Day Contract Amid Season of Experiments

The Detroit season has been devoted to experiments and trials for months. The team is already thinking about the future, and to do so it uses the present to discern the wheat from the chaff on its roster. With this in mind they will sign Jaylen Nowell to a temporary 10-day contract. The shooting guard has had good years as a bench scorer in Minnesota. But this season he has only played nine games with the Grizzlies averaging 5.7 points in 17 minutes per night.

Between November and December, Memphis signed him to two 10-day contracts. Mostly focused on alleviating the plague of casualties that plagues the Tennessee team. Previously, he had been released by the Sacramento Kings on October 20.

In fact, the majority of this year has been spent in the G League with the Stockton Kings. In the Sacramento reserve team he has played 28 games, scoring more than 17 points per night. In 193 games in the NBA, Nowell averages 8.9 points and 1.9 assists in 17 minutes on average.
