Thompson without points – Murray stands out

This is the third time in the last five years that the Dubs have missed the postseason. Besides Curry, Klay Thompson had a very bad day as he didn’t score a point in his 31 minutes and was 0/10. Overall, the Warriors only shot 41 percent from the field and committed a total of 16 turnovers.

On the other side, Keegan Murray (32 points), De’Aaron Fox (24 points) and Domantas Sabonis (16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists) were outstanding. Murray explained after the game: “Finally overcoming this hurdle is what we talked about. It was somehow clear that we would meet them again. But we still need a win for the playoffs.”

Lakers make it to the playoffs

The Los Angeles Lakers around superstar LeBron James, however, are in the playoffs. The Lakers won their play-in duel at the New Orleans Pelicans 110:106 and moved into the championship round. As seventh on the seeding list, LA will face champions and feared opponents Denver Nuggets around Nikola Jokic in the first round starting next weekend. Last year the Lakers and Denver met in the conference finals. The Nuggets won 4-0.

James, who is in the playoffs for the 17th time, led the Lakers to success with 23 points as his team’s top scorer. D’Angelo Russell (21) and Anthony Davis (20) were also reliable. New Orleans had its best thrower in Zion Williamson (40).

Lakers almost squander a big lead

The Lakers had an 18-point lead at one point, but squandered it in the weak final quarter and allowed the Pelicans to equalize. In the end, the Californians still prevailed. The final playoff ticket in the West will be played between the Pelicans and the Kings. The winner will play the Oklahoma City Thunder to open the playoffs.
