After achieving an important 2-1 (15-21, 21-12, 15-10) victory the day before at the close of the preliminary phase over the Norwegian couple of Hendrick Mol-Mathias Berntsen, Alayo and Díaz were placed in the pool D, led by the Germans Nils Ehlers- Clemens Wickler, third on the list of candidates for the event under the five rings.

Havana, April 18 (Prensa Latina) Idalys Ortiz, Andy Granda and Iván Silva lead the team of 15 Cuban judokas who are getting ready today to participate in the Pan American and Oceania Championships, from the 26th to the 28th in Brazil.

Madrid, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) Argentines Tomás Etcheverry, Facundo Díaz and Marco Trungelliti will today seek their place in the quarterfinals at the ATP 500 Conde de Godó tournament, based in the Spanish city of Barcelona.
Etcheverry, seeded 13th in the initial draw of the tournament, will play against the American Brandon Nakashima, his compatriot Díaz will face the Hungarian Fabián Marozsan, while Trungelliti will have net against the Italian Matteo Arnaldi.
