Copa Sudamericana: Argentinos were beaten by Racing de Montevideo | The Uruguayans won 3-0 in La Paternal

Argentinos Juniors succumbed 3-0 to Racing de Montevideo this Tuesday at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, for the second date of Group F of the Copa Sudamericana.

Right from the start, Bicho had a Gondou goal disallowed due to Maxi Romero’s previous offside, and shortly after Gondou himself burst the crossbar, after goalkeeper Bacchia barely deflected the ball before it hit the horizontal.

It seemed like a Pablo Guede monologue in front of a very withdrawn Uruguayan team. Thus, after half an hour, Gastón Verón hit a good header at the far post, but the ball was deflected into the corner by Hugo Magallanes.

However, before the break came the surprising visitor opening, after a prepared play from a free kick that fell to Tomás Verón Lupi and his shot, after a deflection in Verón’s humanity, dislocated his own goalkeeper.

On the way back from the locker room, there was another splash of cold water in La Paternal. The local team lost an incredible ball in the middle of the field and Verón Lupi, with a shot from outside the area, beat “Ruso” Rodríguez again.

But that was not all, because Jonatan Urretaviscaya immediately took advantage of another shot from Alan Lescano and nailed it from a distance for the third, to the astonishment of the local public.

Guede made changes, but El Bicho was ready to be slapped, because his players, very nervous, lost the ball due to the good pressure of their rival, who threatened with the fourth.

Argentinos Juniors never recovered and in the end Racing Montevideo celebrated, the new leader in the area along with Corinthians, who beat last-place Nacional of Paraguay 3-0 at home.
