Kreider considers it an honor to participate in playoffs with the New York Rangers.

Mika Zibanejad, center, stated that he believes this player continues to improve each year. It is not common for players to improve past 30 years old, making this player’s growth exceptional. He has established himself in the league and showcased his abilities.

Kreider has a height of 6 feet and 3 inches and weighs 233 pounds.
“Everyone knows where he’s going and everyone knows what he’s doing yet you can’t stop it,” Zibanejad said. “That says a lot about him.”

Canucks forward J.T. Miller, who was a teammate of Kreider in New York from 2013-2018, stated that once Kreider establishes himself in a spot, it becomes his territory and it’s hard to defend against him. Miller advises playing off and trying to hit his stick, but this still leaves the risk of giving up a screen. Kreider’s size is a major factor in his success in this area, but he also possesses strategic skill and patience, knowing when to use side tips and other techniques. Miller believes that Kreider has the potential to score an indefinite number of goals each season as long as he continues to position himself effectively.

Kreider is a highly prolific goal-scorer in the history of the Rangers team when playing on ice.

Kreider has consistently scored a minimum of 20 goals in six of the seven seasons spanning from 2014 to 2021. He then had his breakout season in 2021-22, matching Graves for the second highest number of goals in a single season in Rangers history with 52, only behind Jaromir Jagr’s 54 in 2005-06. In the previous season, Kreider had 36 goals.

He has scored a total of 39 goals this season, bringing his career total to 304, making him the third highest scorer in Rangers history. This is 23 more goals than Graves. He is currently 32 goals behind Jean Ratelle, who is in second place with 336 goals, and 102 goals behind the leader, Rod Gilbert, who has 406 goals.

When not on the ice, Kreider shared that he has followed the example of his fellow players who guided him in his early days in the NHL to become a leader in the Rangers’ locker room.

“I quickly observed remarkable role models such as Ryan Callahan, Derek Stepan, Ryan McDonagh, Marc Staal, and Dan Girardi — individuals who appreciate the privilege of playing for this team and make the most of their time here,” Kreider shared. “While they enjoy bonding over meals and joking around in the locker room, they also possess the ability to focus and get the job done when it matters.”

Kreider’s expertise in scoring is evident in his play on the power play, where he has established himself as one of the top netfront players in the NHL. He is skilled at executing deflections, tips, and angled stick redirections from the side of the net.

Kreider stands out as the sole left-handed shooter on a highly skilled power-play team, alongside Zibanejad, Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, and Adam Fox.

According to Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet, he believes that Kreider is the key player on the power play. As the PK coach, you have to be concerned about the skills of Panarin, Zibanejad’s powerful shot, Fox’s ability to deceive, and Trocheck’s positioning. However, Kreider also demands attention. With the focus on Kreider, one of the other talented players will have an opportunity to make a move. Ultimately, the end result is Kreider scoring.

On February 24, 2020, Kreider committed to the seven year contract that he is currently fulfilling, during a period of rebuilding for the Rangers.

Reworded: He scored 18 power-play goals in the current season, bringing his career total to 110. This places him second in the history of the Rangers, surpassing Gilbert by two and trailing the leader Camille Henry by six.

According to opponents, it is nearly impossible to relocate him from that vicinity.
