Colombian Archery Team Qualifies for 2024 Olympics in France

Last Sunday, April 14, three more places for the 2024 Olympic Games in France were confirmed at the Pan American Archery Championship in Medellín, Colombia. Thus, the number of athletes rose to 48, waiting for day after day day, more athletes join.

And the fact is that the team of Santiago Arcila, Andrés Hernández and Jorge Henríquez from the men’s recurve bow discipline managed to win the Gold medal in the Pan American Archery Championship. In this way, they were present to compete in the Olympic Games. There are 18 nominal places, for the Colombian Women’s National Team, and 30 numerical places distributed among 11 National Sports Federations.

With this triumph, and with the extension of quotas to the Olympic event to be held in France in 2024, it is expected that Colombia can leave a good role in each discipline, among which football, athletics, swimming, wrestling, gymnastics can be highlighted. , boxing, equestrian, archery, sailing, fencing and weightlifting, these being the Federations that have so far added the qualifiers.

The three athletes who defeated Canada did not hide their pride in qualifying, so much so that Santiago Arcila stated, “I am very excited and happy with the teamwork. Few people have seen me cry and I’m emotional. It is a goal achieved for everyone and thank you very much. “We are going to continue preparing for the Olympics.”
