Around Sébastien Prudhomme, the president of L’Ubaa (Badminton Union of the Albigensian agglomeration), members of the club mobilized to host the leisure discovery day of adapted para badminton, with the help of the Csda (Departmental Committee of Adapted Sport ) represented by Olivier Rouquier federal technical advisor for adapted sports. Supervised by educators, around forty athletes aged 15 to 55 with disabilities responded to the invitation. These discovery days aim to encourage and lead people with mental or psychological disabilities or those suffering from ASD (autism spectrum disorder) into physical and sporting activity, in a secure environment. Adapted sport also offers its practitioners the opportunity to develop social ties and regain independence. Welcomed in the Puygouzon gymnasium, they were able to discover the practice of this racket sport, supervised by around ten volunteers from Ubaa.

Great exchanges took place on the pitch, giving rise to good moments of sharing and conviviality, beyond the sporting aspect. Six specialized medico-social establishments from Tarn were represented: Échappée verte, IME Florentin, Foyer Les Ormes, Hameau du Lac, Cmpro (Asei), Foyer de Florentin. At the end of the meetings, diplomas and awards were awarded. Each participant left with a medal and a prize, and a souvenir photo delivered by the photo booth. The volunteers, for their part, were rewarded by the joy of the participants, who declared their desire to return next year. The Csda organizes 80 annual meetings, which bring together 1,500 licensees from 30 multi-sport adapted sports clubs. Present at the meeting were Marcel Maurel representing the Occitanie para badminton league, the Maison Sport Santé Spécialisée of Vyv3 with an Apa teacher (adapted physical activity), and the municipality of Albi with Marie-Corinne Fortin, deputy mayor . Ubaa wishes to participate in societal issues of inclusion, with a real desire to encourage the reception of people with disabilities within the club.
