Club HC Škoda Plzeň Signs Canadian Forward Christophe Lalancette for 2024/25 Season

Club HC Škoda Plzeň, after a number of departures, will gradually start revealing the cards for the 2024/25 season. The first new face is the Canadian forward Christophe Lalancette, who has decided to link his future with the team for two years.

For the thirty-year-old center in exactly one week, the domestic top competition will not be a step into the unknown. He spent the last three extra-league seasons in the Mountfield jersey, where he scored 94 points (34+60) in 189 games. The maximum was the gain of thirty-four points in the regular part.

Even before that, the one hundred and ninth pick from the 2012 draft spent two seasons in Slovakia, where she scored 99 points (32+67) in 116 duels in Michalovce.

But the native of Roberval always collected points, before leaving for Europe he fought in the QMAAA, QMJHL and ECHL. So he went through the draft of the highest junior competition, where he regularly exceeded the balance of half a point per game.

“We absolutely needed centers. Last season we had a problem with that, that we had few of them. Christophe is a genuine centre, we have watched him for a long time at Mountfield. He should be the right guy we need. He has managed our league for three years in a row and should therefore occupy a position in the first or second attack,” says the club’s sports manager Tomas Vlasak.

Now the skilful striker will wear the blue and white jersey in the west of Bohemia, historically as the twelfth Canadian! He signed a two-year contract in Pilsen!
