‘Club Brugge can credit one top trainer’

Club Brugge recorded an important victory against RSC Anderlecht last weekend. Blauw-Zwart quickly put the Brussels team aside 3-1 and seems to be competing for the title again. In the meantime, they are also looking for a new coach in Bruges.

Club is currently doing it with Nicky Hayen at the helm. He made a good impression in his first two games and can present a positive report with 4 out of 6. But the intention remains to appoint a new name for next season. One candidate seems to be allowed to be deleted.

Club Brugge can forget Van Nistelrooij

Club was linked to Ruud van Nistelrooij. However, the Dutchman now seems to be on his way to Mallorca. According to Relief the former top striker is on the Spanish club’s list to succeed current coach Javier Aguirre. He currently refuses to extend his expiring contract.

Now Mallorca is thinking of Van Nistelrooij. The other names on the shortlist are Diego Martinez and Eder Sarabia. Club is in danger of coming back from a bare journey, although it is not really clear how interested the people of Bruges are.

First steps at PSV

Van Nistelrooij took his first steps as a trainer at PSV. After briefly serving as an assistant coach for the national team, Van Nistelrooij started working in the PSV youth academy. There he eventually worked his way up to head coach of the first team.

Under his reign, the Eindhoven team won the Dutch super cup and the cup. But after internal struggles, he decided to quit at the end of last season. He has been without a club since then.
