Clippers Even Series with Mavericks in Thrilling Victory

The Los Angeles Clippers made up for the absence of Kawhi Leonard on Sunday night to even the odds in their series against the Dallas Mavericks with a 116-111 victory.

After losing the last two games, the Clippers regain home field advantage with this victory.

Without their faithful sidekick, Paul George and James Harden took their game up a notch with 33 points each to lead the Clippers to victory. George also finished the game with six rebounds, eight assists and four steals, while Harden added six rebounds and seven assists.

Ivica Zubac had 13 points and the Clippers also benefited from 11-point performances from Terance Mann and Norman Powell.

Los Angeles quickly made it clear to the Mavericks that the evening would not be easy. The Clippers scored no less than 39 points in the first 12 minutes of play to take a 23-point lead.

Dallas took control of the game in the next two quarters to cut the lead to four points and even managed to take a 105-104 lead with 2:15 left in the game.

Los Angeles, however, regained rhythm to move towards victory.

Luka Doncic will have nothing to reproach himself for in the setback, with a hat-trick of 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Kyrie Irving also had a strong game with 40 points, in vain.

The series will continue Wednesday evening in Los Angeles.
