“Bayern show a completely different face in the Champions League”

Bayern President Herbert Hainer believes he has a chance of winning the Champions League before the game against Arsenal. “In the form of the first leg against Arsenal, I have confidence in the team! We are FC Bayern. Of course, you always need the necessary bit of luck in the Champions League. But: The fact that we are able to hold our own against the leaders of the Premier League – the strongest league in the world – shows what is possible when everyone does everything they can,” said Hainer in “Münchner Merkur/tz”.

Should Bayern win the game, they would face the next top-class player in the semi-finals. The opponent would be the winner of the quarter-finals Manchester City against Real Madrid “After the 2-0 win against 1. The chairman of the supervisory board once again confirmed that they want to work with Thomas Tuchel as coach until the end of the season. “We made it clear what our plan is: that the coach will be there until the end of the season. “This gives us enough time to look for a successor,” said Hainer.
“But after every game that doesn’t go well, people ask again: Is the coach still there? What would happen if you lost to Arsenal? Until the end of the season, the team, together with Thomas Tuchel, should give everything to get as far as possible in the Champions League. And if there is a decision on the coaching issue, the club will comment on it.”
