Celebrating 50 Years of Judo Excellence: The Jubilee of the Dozuléen Judo Club

It is the aptly named David-Douillet gymnasium which served as the setting for the jubilee of the fiftieth anniversary of the Dozuléen Judo club.

An event that the volunteers of the sports section had been preparing for many weeks. “It is a great privilege to celebrate this 50th anniversary today,” underlined Gérard Biernat, club secretary and former coach, welcoming judokas and families as well as former licensees.

“We can safely estimate that nearly 3,000 girls and boys from Dozulé and its surrounding areas passed through the doors of the dojo and set foot on its tatami. And continue by thanking all the volunteers and leaders who gave their time”from Raymond Lebocq to Didier Méjecase, including Philippe Valois, Pascal Jardin and even Bernadette Quentin, president from 1989 to 1994 then from 2002 to today. “I would like to honor Bernadette Quentin for her commitment for more than thirty-five years. She always knew how to put the best interests of the club above everything else. »

Sophie Gaugain, mayor, in turn, spoke, addressing Bernadette Quentin and Gérard Biernat. “You are the “totem pillars” of the Dozulé judo club. For everything you have given and what you continue to give, truly from the bottom of my heart a huge thank you. » And so that the celebration lasts in people’s minds well beyond this exceptional day, a booklet of around twenty pages, retracing the history of the club, was offered to all participants.
