Cavaliers Clinch Playoff Berth with Win Over Grizzlies

CLEVELAND (AP) — Donovan Mitchell scored 29 points, Jarrett Allen had 16 points and 10 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 110-98 on Wednesday to move within one victory of confirming their place in the postseason.

Mitchell, the star point guard who has had a sore left knee for the past two months, also had eight assists in his 10th game since Feb. 15. The Cavaliers have lost 11 of their last 17 games, but are fourth in the East.

Cleveland could finish in the top six and confirm its second consecutive playoff appearance on Friday, with a victory over Indiana, or on Sunday against Charlotte.

Jake LaRavis scored a career-high 32 points and made eight 3-pointers. GG Jackson II contributed 22 points for the injury-plagued Grizzlies who rotated an NBA record 33 players this season. Scottie Pippen Jr. added 18 points and six assists.
