Caracas still does not see light in the Copa Libertadores

Caracas FC continues to see no light in its bad moment. They were crushed for the second time in the Copa Conmebol Libertadores this time 5-0 by Peñarol in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Los Rojos del Ávila now have 11 consecutive games without winning in official competitions, the worst performance in a long time. So much so that it goes back to the worst win in its history, the 0-6 against Cerro Porteño of Paraguay in 1995.

In only two Libertadores dates, Caracas has conceded nine goals and scored only one, with four games remaining in the group stage.

A poorly conceived team from the start of the year, after being runners-up in Venezuelan football last year thanks to coach Leo González, who is no longer in office.

Their next match in the Copa Libertadores will be in two weeks, April 23, against Rosario Central of Argentina at the UCV Olympic stadium.

However, there is not much chance that Caracas will achieve at least one win, much less advance to the round of 16 in the international tournament.

The last time the capital team won in Libertadores was on May 3, 2022 against Libertad of Paraguay 1-0 at home.

Almost eliminated in the Futve

In the Futve League it looks the same or worse, with only 11 points with two days left. They are five points behind eighth place with six at stake, against UCV FC and Carabobo FC. The chances of advancing are minimal.

Furthermore, the Avilanians are the team with the fewest goals scored in the tournament with eight goals. The offensive tactical approach has not demonstrated efficiency, in addition to the lack of aim and decision when kicking or making a decisive pass.

Edwin Pernía is the one who has scored the most with only three goals, followed by Ender Echenique with two, but the rest of the offensive figures have not had much brilliance this season.
