Bad news for BVB with Sebastien Haller. Meanwhile, things are looking better for another offensive player.

Update, Sunday (April 14th), 4:39 p.m.: One day after BVB’s victory at Borussia Mönchengladbach (2-1), it is still unclear what will happen next for Sebastien Haller. The striker, who was injured in the 9th minute of the game, was treated for several hours in Dortmund-Brackel on Sunday Ruhr News to report.

BVB news from the training ground: Season over for Sebastien Haller?

His appearance against Atlético Madrid in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League next Tuesday (April 16) has been ruled out. It is unclear whether Haller will be able to play again this season. Haller has problems with his foot.

There is also a question mark with Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. He had to leave the field injured after 54 minutes against Gladbach. He was only in Brackel briefly on Sunday and left the area behind team doctor Markus Braun. The youngster complains of back pain.

Meanwhile there is good news from Jadon Sancho. The winger, who missed BVB’s win on Saturday due to illness, took part in training again on Sunday.

First report, Saturday (April 13th), 7:39 p.m.: BVB won 2-1 against Borussia Mönchengladbach. While Borussia Dortmund can celebrate and cling to RB Leipzig in the table with three points, there is also a downer: Sébastien Haller had to leave the pitch injured after just nine minutes. And he is not the only BVB player who had to leave the pitch injured.

BVB coach Edin Terzic gives an update on the injured

It was Sébastien Haller’s first starting eleven appearance since September. Since then he hasn’t been able to get past Niclas Füllkrug, was canceled for the Africa Cup or was injured. In the Africa Cup, the BVB professional also suffered an ankle injury.

During his starting eleven comeback against Gladbach, Sebastien Haller was knocked over from behind on his first contact with the ball (2nd minute). After treatment on the sidelines, they initially went back onto the pitch, but the Ivorian quickly signaled that he could no longer play. After the game, he limped past the press representatives, including RUHR24, in the mixed zone.

Foot ankle injury: BVB striker Sebastian Haller has to leave the field injured after nine minutes

“The first time he touched the ball there was a tackle, but unfortunately he injured his foot again, like he has in the last few months,” BVB coach Edin Terzic gave a first insight at the subsequent press conference.

“He doesn’t think it’s that bad. We have hope that he won’t be out for long,” Edin Terzic continued. Haller was able to perform easily again. “We want him to stay injury-free and healthy.”

BVB player Jamie Bynoe-Gittens substituted with back problems – Edin Terzic hopeful

But it wasn’t just BVB striker Sebastien Haller who had to leave the pitch injured. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens was also only able to play a little more than half. In the first half he received a push from behind: “It stabbed him in the back,” said Edin Terzic, describing the scene.

The youngster was still feeling good during the half-time break, “but then shortly after the break he immediately signaled that it was closing, that it was a bit cramping.”

Jadon Sancho was missing due to illness: BVB is hoping for a short absence

However, there is a small glimmer of hope here: Jamie Bynoe-Gittens felt significantly better after treatment after the game. “We hope that we can start training tomorrow or the day after,” summarized Edin Terzic.

Finally, the BVB coach gave a note about Jadon Sancho, who was missing from Borussia Dortmund against the “Foals” due to illness. Apparently a gastrointestinal infection put him out of action. “We hope he can start training again tomorrow.”

It looks like Jadon Sancho will be out for a short time at least. One can hope that Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Sebastien Haller don’t have more serious injuries. After all, BVB needs its players back against Atlético Madrid in just three days – and in good health.
