BVB, News: Niclas Füllkrug switches off Instagram comments

Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug has switched off the comment function on his Instagram profile. The 31-year-old can now only comment on people he follows.

This could be a reaction to the increasingly loud criticism of his recent weaker performances. Füllkrug has been waiting for a goal for nine competitive games. In the 1-2 loss against Atlético Madrid he had to go out after an hour, Joker Sébastien Haller promptly scored the goal.

This is “of course a public issue,” coach Edin Terzic admitted at a press conference on Friday. “If he continues to work like this, it won’t be long before he gets through this phase,” he emphasized, but also said about Haller: “He’s not far away from the starting eleven.”

Over the entire season, Füllkrug has 39 competitive games and 23 scorer points for BVB (13 goals, 10 assists).
