Bundesliga only refuses LASK license

On Friday, the Austrian Bundesliga granted 16 applicants for a license to the Bundesliga and twelve applicants admission to the 2nd league in the first instance.

A prominent exception is LASK, which was initially denied a license due to personnel reasons (change of coach). Vienna Austria, which was considered a shaky candidate due to its financial problems, was granted permission to play at the first attempt – but under conditions.

“The licensing and approval process was characterized by a number of different cases, which did not make it easy for the responsible Senate 5 to make decisions. What is pleasing, however, is that on the one hand the clubs have ensured a higher quality of the application documents compared to previous years through their preparatory work and on the other hand the clarifications made to the regulations,” said Thomas Hofer-Zeni, the chairman of the responsible Senate 5 of the Bundesliga , in a broadcast.
