1. FC Heidenheim: Where the ball still lands on the gridiron

Harry Kane: Fucking another one

The Munich team dominated the first half. They had almost 70 percent ball possession and 9 shots on goal. However, Cologne, who were threatened with relegation, also had five chances to score. However, the game remained goalless until the half-time whistle.

The second half started like the first: fast-paced. In the 65th minute the time had come: Raphaël Guerreiro shot from 20 meters after a low corner from Joshua Kimmich and scored. In the third minute of injury time, it was Thomas Müller who got the ball from 16 meters after a Cologne disagreement and scored. At least it was clear that Cologne would continue to play against relegation and that Leverkusen could become champions tomorrow on their own.

1. FSV Mainz 05 – TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 4:1 (0:1)

Mainz, who were also threatened with relegation, started well against TSG from Hoffenheim. But Hoffenheim took advantage of a short-handed situation in the first half after a Mainz player was treated. Pavel Kadeřábek headed the ball from Andrej Kramarić’s cross and took the lead.

In the second half, Mainz turned up the heat. Right at the start of the second half, Jonathan Burkardt also scored the equalizer with a header (47th minute). In the 51st minute, Phillipp Mwene took the lead. His long-range shot was deflected and was therefore unstoppable for Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. In the 63rd minute, Brajan Gruda, who was treated when Hoffenheim took the lead, was able to increase the score even further. After a rebound, he was able to head the ball into the goal. Shortly before the end, in the 88th minute, Karim Onisiwo was even able to score the fourth goal for Mainz.

Borussia Mönchengladbach – Borussia Dortmund 1:2 (1:2)

In the Borussia duel, Dortmund’s aim was to not lose touch with the Champions League places with a win. The game started in a controlled manner. BVB took the lead in the 22nd minute and with their first chance to score. Marcel Sabitzer ran past Nico Schlotterbeck’s long ball and took the lead with a long-range shot. In the 28th minute, Sabitzer scored his second goal. After criminal contact, Schlotterbeck fell in the penalty area and Dortmund received a penalty.

However, BVB was unable to take the lead into the break. The Gladbachers used the first corner to connect. In the second half the goals stopped and the highlights became fewer. In the 55th minute, Karim Adeyemi saw yellow-red. After an unnecessary first yellow card, he received a second yellow card for holding and was sent off. However, it remained at three points for Dortmund.

VfL Bochum – 1. FC Heidenheim 1:1 (0:0)

In Bochum, one goal was disallowed based on video evidence. Keven Schlotterbeck then put Bochum behind with an own goal in the 81st minute, but was able to compensate for this mistake in the 90th minute and scored to make the final score 1-1. Schlotterbeck had already scored a goal and an own goal against Mainz this season. That hadn’t happened in over twenty years.

VfL was fundamentally superior, had more possession of the ball and more chances to score. Bochum remains above the relegation spot for the time being, in 15th place. The newcomer from Heidenheim is in 10th place and can be happier with the draw. The Heidenheimers did not have a compelling opportunity to score.

RB Leipzig – VfL Wolfsburg 3:0 (1:0)

RB Leipzig was clearly superior against Wolfsburg and won 3-0 after goals from Dani Olmo (13th), Benjamin Sesko (68th) and Loïs Openda (82nd). RB thus reaffirmed the club’s Champions League aspirations. While Leipzig is in fourth place, Wolfsburg are currently in 14th place and have to continue to play to stay in the first division.
