Building for the Future: Koshigaya Alphars’ Town Development and Arena Construction Challenge

About the challenge of town development and arena construction

Introduction The predecessor of “Koshigaya Alphars” was founded in 1997 as a corporate basketball club.
Although we started out in the 6th Division of the Kanto Business Federation, through the efforts of many people dedicated to basketball, we continued to pave the way to becoming a professional club, and in July 2015 we entered the new league, the B3 League. obtain the right.
After that, in anticipation of the entry of the professional league B.LEAGUE, in November 2017 they formed a hometown partnership with Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, and in 2018 acquired a B2 license. We have started our journey as “Koshigaya Alphars”.
Alphars will continue to take on challenges in Koshigaya and Saitama, the places that have accepted us, with gratitude and respect for the many people who have made our history so far. .
B.LEAGUE will enter a new era with major changes
that will involve changes to the league structure starting in 2026.
※B. Innovation:
There are high hurdles to overcome through B. Innovation, such as achieving sales and attendance figures for the second consecutive year and completing an “Arena” equipped with VIP rooms and other hospitality, but we are aiming to reach the top in the new league as well. We will continue to take on challenges to become a club that can meet the B.PREMIER entry requirements, and we would like to maximize the meaning of “Koshigaya Alphars” for everyone in Koshigaya and Saitama.
The Koshigaya Alphars will revitalize the economy, society, culture, etc.
We will also help increase the motivation of the people living in Koshigaya and Saitama, so that we can become a part of the sustainable development of the region.
To be a dream and hope for children.

Alphars continues to take on challenges.

Regarding moves aimed at constructing an arena, on March 27, 2024, we submitted a request to Koshigaya City with the aim of realizing a new home arena.
Regarding the Koshigaya City General Gymnasium, which we are currently using as our home arena, we are asking not only Koshigaya City, but also everyone at the facility to understand the club’s activities and give us the utmost consideration. Unfortunately, the general gymnasium is unable to meet the standards for new home arenas set by B. Innovation.

Based on this, we have submitted a request requesting consideration for the use and support of the approximately 10,000 square meters of land owned by Koshigaya City, including the Lake Town Waterside Community Development Center and adjacent land.
Comment from club representative Kazuto Uehara Until now, Koshigaya Alphars has not made a clear statement as to whether or not they are aiming to enter B.PREMIER based on B.Innovation.

This is the first time we will be announcing a club vision based on B. Innovation.
The first thing I would like to convey to you is that we have a strong desire to continue our activities with Koshigaya as our home.
As mentioned above, Alphars has a long history dating back to its predecessor, and has been accepted into the Koshigaya area and was able to enter the B.LEAGUE, a professional basketball league.
As the club grows and aims to be in the “Top League” (currently B1 League), transforming from a corporate team to a professional club, it is thanks to the understanding and cooperation of Koshigaya City that we were able to obtain the B1 license. was.

We aim to raise the significance of our presence here, to become a club that everyone can be proud of saying, “Koshigaya Alphars is in this town,” and to contribute to the revitalization of the town and the improvement of its value. I’m here.
“Here in Koshigaya, we aim to become a club that meets the B.PREMIER entry requirements.”

This is our next goal and challenge.
Of the B.PREMIER entry conditions, the biggest hurdle for us is:
“Completion of an “arena” equipped with hospitality such as VIP rooms.”

To that end, we have submitted a request to Koshigaya City with the aim of realizing a new home arena.
It’s not an easy challenge, but I’m very excited to be able to take on the challenge of creating a new “home arena” from scratch.

We would like to aim for this to be not just an arena for the club, but a “dream arena” for the local community.
If the arena were to become a reality,
○As a place where you can have highly entertaining and extraordinary experiences.
○A place where you can experience not only basketball but also other sports and various events and live performances.
○The arena has led to an increase in the number of people visiting Koshigaya for sightseeing, dining, and lodging, which has boosted the economy not only of the area around the arena but of Koshigaya City as a whole.
To revitalize and create excitement.
○As a disaster prevention facility, it can be used as a place of peace of mind in the event of an emergency.
○ The arena will become a place where merchant associations, local governments, companies, and others gather to think about “town development” and actively exchange opinions.
○ Expanding new educational possibilities and making it a useful place for children.

…and many other possibilities can be imagined.

This is a challenge full of hope and what kind of dream arena we can aim for.
The atmosphere of unity at the final game of the regular season the other day, and everyone’s call of “Let’s GO ALPHAS,” once again,
I have a strong desire to challenge everyone here and welcome everyone to the new arena.

I would like to create a dream arena for everyone in this place that I have so much fond memories of.

We would appreciate your understanding and support in this challenge.

B League Chairman Shinji Shimada Comment

To everyone involved in Koshigaya Alphars, including fans of Koshigaya Alphars, partner companies, and Koshigaya City.

Thank you for your continued support for Alphas. We are pleased to announce that the club has recently announced “Challenges for Town Development and Arena Construction”.
Arenas differ from traditional gymnasiums in that they are facilities that place emphasis on people who watch as well as those who play, and they serve as profit centers for the region by generating revenue through entertainment and other performances. Not only that, but in recent years it has become an indispensable facility not only for basketball, but also for solving regional issues and urban development, as it has been used as a disaster prevention base and has a significant economic effect on the region due to the increase in the number of people interacting with it.

For example, at the Okinawa Arena and SAGA Arena, which have already been completed, the number of visitors to the clubs has increased several times, and Ryukyu has grown to a level where it is on par with the top clubs in the J League in terms of admission revenue. In terms of economic effects for the region, famous artists have come to SAGA Arena for concerts and the occupancy rate of surrounding facilities and accommodation facilities has increased. In terms of social effects, Okinawa Arena was also used as an evacuation center after last year’s typhoon. It was used. (

In this way, arenas bring many economic and social effects to the region, and B.LEAGUE is already progressing with more than 10 announced projects. We are very happy that construction of an arena is being seriously considered in Koshigaya City, the hometown of the Alphars, who are supported by many people, and we would appreciate your continued support.
