Basketball since I was little

There was LeBron James Jr., born October 6, 2004, then Bryce Maximus James, born June 14, 2007, then the youngest, a daughter, Zhuri, born October 28, 2014. Obviously, for the Jameses, basketball -ball takes a prominent place. It is therefore quite natural that LeBron James Jr., nicknamed Bronny, turned to a career in this sport. Especially since his godfather is none other than Chris Paul, one of the best passers in NBA history. So who is Bronny?

Born in Cleveland, he quickly started playing basketball, before being spotted in 2014, at the age of 10. Selections, matches, training… He ties it all together, and pretty well. He then went to high school, at Sierra Canyon School, in Los Angeles, California. It has a great basketball team, one of the best in secondary education. Here again, he impresses. He will remain there until 2022, culminating in a selection at the McDonald’s All-American Boys Game and the Nike Hoop Summit. Then it’s time for college.

In 2023, the young man takes charge of the University of Southern California Trojans. It now measures 1m93 pour 95 kg. He respectively wore the number 23 on his jersey, in homage to that of his father. Then, he opted for 0, the number of Russell Westbrook, who is his favorite basketball player. What would make his dad jealous? We ignore it. Today he wears number 6. And we were going to forget the most important thing: he can play leader or fullback. Two positions where his qualities work wonders. “He is a high-level athlete, an accomplished shooter, with good vision of the game and who defends very well”explains Tarek Fattal, journalist at Los Angeles Daily News, 20 minutes away. Before adding that the young athlete had “a great temperament”.

Cardiac arrest, then the NBA?

But everything could have changed. On July 25, 2023, in full training with his university team, Bronny had a cardiac arrest on the floor. Quickly transferred to hospital, the 18-year-old remained in care for a few days. The news was then reassuring. Examinations were carried out and this worrying alert was due to congenital heart disease, heart deficiency, more precisely.

Once all this was processed, LeBron’s son was allowed to play again, four months later. Since then, he has obviously been closely monitored by a team of doctors. He was able to play again with his university team on December 10, 2023. What’s next for him? Know that he is eligible for the NBA draft 2024. He will undoubtedly present himself there, with one objective for himself and for his father: to be selected. LeBron James has indicated that he plans to postpone his retirement date to be able to play with his eldest son.

Even before being a likely NBA star, Bronny is a social media star. On Instagram, he has more than… 7 million subscribers. He likes to share photographs of his looks, his daily life and family photos. We wish him all the best for the future!
