Bologna FC’s first participation in the Champions League is getting closer. In the 33rd round of Serie A, the surprise team with Stefan Posch won 3-1 at AS Roma. With one more game, the “Rossoblu”, coached by Thiago Motta, are now eight points ahead of sixth-placed Atalanta Bergamo. Roma is currently also in the Champions League in fifth place.
Oussama El Azzouzi (14th) and Joshua Zirkzee (45th) gave Bologna a 2-0 lead by the break. After Sardar Azmoun’s goal (56th), Alexis Saelemaekers (65th) made it 3-1 with a chip. Posch was replaced in the 80th minute.
The right-back caused a stir with his rescue act shortly after the break. After a corner, Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy shot, Posch saved with a header on the line.
