The woman who was the victim of sexual abuse by Jorge Martínez, former coach of the Boca Juniors women’s soccer team, provided chats with Xeneize leaders and stated that they told her that “the 1st knew” what had happened to her.
That was what Florencia Marco declared in the last few hours before the prosecutor who faced a preliminary investigation to investigate the possible cover-up by the authorities and other possible acts of sexual abuse.

These investigations emerged from some trial witnesses who reportedly recounted how Martínez abused other women who were part of the women’s soccer team at the La Ribera institution.
A week ago, Jorge Martínez was sentenced to one year in prison after being found guilty in the sexual abuse case initiated by Marco, who worked as the team’s press officer.

“At the trial, a witness said that Riquelme’s brother was aware of the events that Florencia suffered and said that ‘he also knew about it on the 1st’. It is presumed that, given the prosecutor’s suspicion, the “1” would be Juan Román Riquelme, according to journalist Sergio Farella.
This Monday, Marco confirmed these statements and said that he had a talk with Marcelo Delgado, who let him know that Riquelme “was aware of the situation.”

The prosecutor is gathering evidence, including the chats that the complainant had with the leadership. He also contributed messages with Jorge “Patrón” Bermúdez, investigated for false testimony, like Delgado.
In this context, during the trial, Marco said that, as Boca’s response to his complaint, they told him that Martínez was going to be removed, but that did not happen.
The investigation against Marcelo Delgado and Jorge Bermúdez
When reading the verdict, it was necessary to extract the testimonies and send them to a drawing so that a court could be designated to investigate “the possible commission of the crime of false testimony by Jorge Hernán Bermúdez Morales and Marcelo Alejandro Delgado.”
In that sense, Farella explained: “The other indication is the victim’s chats with Jorge Bermúdez and Marcelo Delgado. The prosecutor’s office already has those chats. Delgado and Bermúdez sat at the trial and said ‘I found out when the complaint was made public.'”

Both Bermúdez and Delgado testified in the case in favor of Jorge Martínez. The Prosecutor granted the request of Florencia Marco’s defense for them to be investigated.
“They were accomplices because they covered up Martínez’s crime: they knew and they covered it up,” Marco’s lawyer told TN after Martínez’s sentence was announced.
