The Toronto Blue Jays triumphed over the Colorado Rockies 5-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Rogers Centre.

In today’s clash, starter José Berrios (3-0) was excellent. The 29-year-old right-hander only gave two hits and as many walks in seven innings of work. He also beat seven rivals.

Relievers Génesis Cabrera and Nate Pearson continued Berrios’ momentum and gave their opponents no safe hits. The second struck out the three batters who appeared in front of him and thus signed his first save of the campaign.

At the bat, designated hitter Justin Turner led the charge for the winners. The veteran produced three runs, thanks to two singles and a double. He concluded his duel with three hits in four appearances at the plate.

The Blue Jays’ other points were the work of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The two athletes propelled teammates to the plate with singles in the third and eighth periods respectively.

The loss was suffered by Kyle Freeland (0-3), who allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings on the mound.

The Blue Jays will return to action on Monday evening in the first game of a three-game series against the New York Yankees. These duels will be held in the Queen City.
