Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton notably scored two home runs during the first segment. Juan Soto, for his part, went with a single in the second inning to allow the Bronx Bombardiers to lead 6 to 0.

Anthony Rizzo also extended his arms for the New York team (7-2).

It was in the seventh inning that the Blue Jays (4-5) woke up. Vladimir Guerrero notably recorded his second home run of the season. Daniel Voglebach, with a double, reduced the score to 9 to 4. During the final inning, a double from Davis Schneider and a single from Cavan Biggio brought the representatives of the Queen City to within one point of those of New York , but it was too little too late.

Justin Turner, Ernie Clement, Alejandro Kirk and Kevin Kiermaier also each produced a point for Toronto.

On the mound, Kevin Gaussman (0-1) had a rather complicated game. In 1.1 innings played, he allowed four hits, two home runs, six runs and gave two walks.

His counterpart in the Yankees, Luke Weaver (3-0), recorded the victory. Nonetheless, it was Clarke Schmidt who played the most, throwing four strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

The two clubs will meet once again on Sunday in the third and final match of their series. The Blue Jays will begin their home season on Monday when the Seattle Mariners are in Toronto for three games.

Another defeat for the Twins

The Minnesota Twins (3-4) of Quebecer Édouard Julien suffered another defeat against the Cleveland Guardians (7-2), this time by a score of 3 to 1.

Julien has failed to send the ball to safety in three at-bats. That said, he drew two walks.

The Minnesota team will face the Guardians again on Sunday afternoon.
