Real Madrid is still the bane of Bayern Munich. This semi-final first leg, concluded with a score of 2 to 2, constituted the 8th consecutive match without a victory for the Bavarians against the Spaniards. Their longest current streak against any other European club.

Bayern Munich, however, pulled out all the stops for this first leg. The supporters deploy a huge tifo in tribute to Kaiser Franz, the Beckenbauer legend. And on the ground, the Munich people take the initiative. In a one-two with Kane, Sané enters the Madrid area and tries to cross his shot. Fortunately, Lunin got into his match well (1st).

The two men are confident and successively try their chances from a distance (7th, 9th). Bayern Munich sets the pace of the match, supported by its audience.

But Real Madrid remains Real Madrid. Even dominated, the 14-time winner of the Champions League only needs one opportunity to shake the net. From the central circle, Kroos sends a bright opening for Vinicius in the depth. The Brazilian appears in front of the goalkeeper and deceives Neuer with the flat of his foot (24th, 0-1).

The goal seems to knock out the Germans. Real Madrid enjoys the false rhythm that sets in, pushing back the weak Bavarian offensives. Only two free kicks wake up the supporters: a pure strike from Kane which passes near the Madrid left post (42nd) and another from Rodrygo (45th).

Bayern overthrow Real Madrid

Thomas Tuchel had to find the words in the locker room. The second period starts on the same auspices as the first but this time, Leroy Sané puts it at the bottom (53rd, 1-1). In the process, Vasquez mows down Musiala in the area. Harry Kane converted the penalty immediately to score his eighth goal of the season in the Champions League and thus join Kylian Mbappé at the top of the ranking of top scorers (57th, 2-1). Football moves quickly!

Revived, Bayern Munich redoubled their attack. Harry Kane collapsed in the area after a muscular intervention from Rüdiger but the French referee, Clément Turpin, signaled to play (60th). Later, a shot against the Englishman found the post (67th) and Lunin intervened on the following corner (68th).

Real Madrid wakes up in the last 20 minutes of the match: the incoming Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Vinicius struggle but come up against a Manuel Neuer of the great days (78th). But the great German goalkeeper ended up losing on the second penalty of the match, scored with the flat of his foot by Vinicius (82nd, 2-2).

Everything will therefore remain to be done on Wednesday May 8 between the two European giants.
