Bayer 04 Leverkusen on the brink of making history in Bundesliga

It could be a day for the history books!

Bayer 04 Leverkusen has today in the game against Werder Bremen (5.30 p.m., DAZN/on bild.de in the live ticker) the great opportunity to become German football champions for the first time in the club’s history. To do this, the Werkself need a win against Bremen.

If Leverkusen won against Werder, Bayer would be 16 points ahead of their “pursuers” Bayern and Stuttgart – and would therefore be unassailable at the top of the Bundesliga with five match days remaining.

    The fan umbrella organization Nordkurve12 is calling for two actions for the home game against Werder Bremen. The traditional “Finally Red” campaign begins against Bremen, in which Bayer fans are supposed to come to the stadium in red for the last games of a season.

    Today is “Flag Day”: every fan who has a Bayer flag should bring it with them today.

    Jonas Hofmann (31) also moved to Leverkusen in the summer of 2023, coming from Rhine rival Gladbach.

    Coach Sergi Runge’s U17s won 3-2 against direct rivals Schalke 04 on Saturday and have thus reached the semi-finals of the German B Youth Championship.

    The winning goal came in the 94th minute. It’s not just the professionals in Leverkusen who can do that.

    The ticket for the final round has been purchased. The first semi-final will take place on May 1st in Leverkusen.

    The U19s are also fighting for a place in the final round of the German championship as third in the table. With a win today (11 a.m.) at Alemannia Aachen, she could jump back to second place.
