For FC Bayern, who have had their play-off ticket in their pocket since last weekend, the away defeat was a bitter disappointment. The best thrower in coach Pablo Laso’s disappointing team on matchday 29 was Elias Harris with 17 points. In the Academics, the top scorers were Jeffrey Carroll and Justin Jaworski (21 each), while national player Paul Zipser, who is on loan to Heidelberg from Munich, scored six points.

Heidelberg played in the SAP Arena for the second time. On December 27, 2022, Bayern narrowly won the premiere there (87:84), and this time it was exciting too. In the final quarter, the MLP Academics pulled away with an 11:2 run (82:72/39th minute), Bayern no longer had an answer.

Ratiopharm Ulm didn’t make it exciting at all. The champions beat Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels 106:79 (50:33). Five people from Ulm scored double figures, with Justinian Jessup and national player Robin Christen scoring 14 points each. The defending champions celebrated their 20th win in their 29th game of the season.
