Saski Baskonia will honor the Brazilian center Tiago Splitter by retiring his shirt next Sunday, May 5, in advance of the match between the Basques and Girona (12:30 p.m.), as an icon of the entity, with more than 400 games and nine titles in its “seven successful seasons,” according to a statement.
“Baskonia will pay a more than well-deserved tribute to one of the club’s legends. Splitter is one of the most successful players in Baskonia history. With the Gasteiztarran elastic Splitter he won nine titles: two Leagues (2008 and 2010), three Copas del Rey (2004, 2006 and 2009) and four Spanish Super Cups (2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008). In addition, he played in four Euroleague ‘Final Fours’ and was awarded the MVP of the season in ACB in 2010.
