Barbora Krejčíková Responds to Pregnancy Announcement on Social Media After Health Setback

Barbora Krejčíková has not appeared on the tennis courts since the beginning of February due to lingering health problems, and now she also had to respond to the news of her pregnancy on social networks.

“Extraordinary news: Barbora Krejčíková is pregnant,” appeared on the social network X during Monday.

Even with a quote from the player herself: “I want to share good news. Me and Pavel will welcome a child into our family this year. I hope to see you soon on the court, I am grateful for the support.”

The contribution of the user Moonball Enthusiast spread quite significantly on the network thanks to sharing, and thus reached Krejčíková. She responded with a short video.

“Sorry to disappoint you but I’m still with baby number one,” the 28-year-old tennis player captioned the snaps of her stroking her pet dog, a Yorkshire terrier.

The author of the post thanked Krejčíková for the reaction and emphasized that it was only an April Fool’s joke.

The 2021 Roland Garros champion played only three tournaments this year: she finished in the first round in Adelaide, then reached the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and Abu Dhabi.

But then, due to a back injury, she withdrew from one tournament after another, including Dubai, where she had to defend her phenomenal triumph from last year, when she defeated the three best players in the world rankings: Aryna Sabalenkova, Jessica Pegula and Iga Šwiatek on the way to the winning trophy.

When she was about to return and compete in the American Sunshine Double, i.e. major tournaments in California’s Indian Wells and Florida’s Miami, she was sidelined by a severe flu.

On Sunday, she shared an update on her health on Instagram.

“I was out of bed all day today for the first time. I’m still not allowed to exercise or do anything high intensity, so I’m starting with easy walks in our nature. I’ll let you know how I proceed soon,” she explained.

Due to a long break, the former world number two Krejčíková fell in the ranking from 12th position to the current 25th place.
