The Barahona Judo representation won the Grand Invitational Cup.
EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO. The Barahona Judo Association won first place in the V “Miguel Caro” Judo Invitational Cup held on Saturday with the participation of delegations from 16 associations and clubs in the country.
In the tournament, held at the Barahona Sports Village, local judokas accumulated a total of 1,380 points, after adding 13 gold, seven silver and 10 bronze medals.
The V “Miguel Caro” Judo Cup was organized by the Barahona Judo Association, on its 44th anniversary, with the endorsement of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo).
The Judo Association of San Juan de la Maguana took second place, winning four gold metals, two silver and four bronze, for a total of 424 points.
The third place cup went to the Monte Plata delegation, which obtained 422 units, the product of four gold medals, two silver and a pair of bronze.
The fourth place was obtained by San Pedro de Macorís, with 403 points (four gold medals and three bronze), while the province of Duarte was fifth, with two first place metals, five second and one third place, for a total of 251. points.
With 205 points, Judo Naco finished in sixth place, with two gold and five bronze medals, while Villa Francisca was seventh, with two gold and one silver.
The Barahona Judo Invitational had the support of the Economic Kitchens, Consorcio Azucarero Central, Municipal Mayor’s Office of Barahona, Grupo Buffalo Comercial Yol, OMSA, Children of the Nations, Super Farmacia Ana Isabel, Moisés Ayala Foundation, Beauty Skin Care, Agua Perla Sur, EGE Haina, Kola Real, Grupo Okey, Fundación Sur Joven, Fedojudo and Gatorade.
