Balinski is back with the Panthers and will play tonight against Ottawa

“Panthers” game at home will start at 2 am on Wednesday Latvian time.

Before the Stanley Cup, the Florida team has decided to give defender Oliver Ekman-Lashon a little rest, and Balinsky will take his place. The Latvian ice hockey player was called up to “Panthers” already on April 3, but he was left out of the lineup in the previous matches.

“He’s an NHL defenseman. I believe that. I think he’s progressed a lot in the American Hockey League,” Florida head coach Paul Morris said.

Balinskis has played 22 games in the NHL this season, in which he has accumulated three (1+2) performance points and a neutral efficiency ratio. On the other hand, in the “Panthers” farm club in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Charlotte “Checkers”, the Latvian scored three goals and 18 assists in 37 games.

The Panthers are fourth in the Eastern Conference standings with 102 points in 78 games and have already secured a spot in the Stanley Cup.
