Badminton Club Celebrates Another Exceptional Year of Success

The club ends another exceptional year with great results.

But where will he stop? This is the question to ask in view of the incredible season that the badminton club is experiencing! “This year is exceptional,” enthuses President Sylvain Glemba. “With 124 members, we are breaking our record for licensees and placing ourselves within the upper limit in relation to the available slots that we benefit from at the gymnasium.” In addition to posting a healthy cash flow, the club is experiencing another exceptional year for teams.

A replacement club of champions

With 10 victories for 10 matches, team 1, undefeated in Regional 3, has successfully progressed and will play in Regional 2 next season. “These results place us in second place among Drôme Ardèche interclubs just behind Valence and eighth in number of licensees,” notes the president. Another source of satisfaction for Sylvain Glemba, his son Pierre, 16 years old. This young man won the title of regional champion in men’s doubles and the title of French UNSS Excellence champion with his class from the Gabriel-Faure high school in Tournon. “This title qualifies him for the European Championships which will be played this summer in Denmark,” announces the president with very legitimate pride. Pierre Glemba is also the first player from the club’s training to rank at the national level in three tables (singles, doubles and mixed). And like in the Glemba family, damn it can’t lie, Pierre’s cousin and Sylvain’s niece, Romane Glemba, 15, has also just qualified for the French mixed youth championships.
