Autonomous University of Tamaulipas judoka secures spot in National Universiade after defeating current champion

SAN NICOLÁS DE LOS GARZA, NL.- The judoka from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, José Alfredo Quintá López, processed the passport to the Aguascalientes 2024 National Universiade, by imposing conditions in the CONDDE Regional Judo Tournament, which was held in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León.

The Region 1 fair, in which exponents from Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas participate, took place in the Combat Pavilion of the Neolonian High Performance Center this Friday, April 19.

  • The national team advanced to the Universiade in first place in the -66 kilogram body weight category, in which they won 2 fights to 1 against their counterpart from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Ramón Hernández, who is the current national university champion .

The National Universiade judo will take place from May 17 to 20 at the facilities of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes.

It should be noted that the Tampiqueño is concentrated with the National Team of the specialty at the High Performance Center in Mexico City, where he traveled expressly to compete in the Regional, with a return ticket for this Saturday.
