The two Austrians Gerald Melzer and Joel Schwärzler have to pack their bags in the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger in Tallahassee.

Youngster Schwärzler narrowly defeated the American Mitchell Krueger (ATP 277) in two sets with 5:7,6:7(4).

The 18-year-old received the decisive break in the twelfth game in the first set. In the second set, Schwärzler was already 2:5 behind, but then used two of his three break points and fought his way into the tiebreak. In this he is initially 4:3 ahead before Krueger scores the last four points to win the match.

In the end, Melzer has no chance against number two seeded Belgian Zizou Bergs (ATP 107) and loses 1:6,4:6.
