Arsenal came very close to conceding a stupid penalty on Tuesday, in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich (2-2), on a voluntary hand from Gabriel (26 years old, 29 games and 4 goals in the Premier League this season) in the area (see the 00:45 news).

At the microphone of Sky Germany, Bavarian sports director Max Eberl criticized the decision of the referee, Glenn Nyberg, to consider the error so ridiculous as to not designate the penalty spot. “The referee whistles, the goalkeeper passes the ball to the defender, who takes it with his hand, it’s a penalty. The referee said he couldn’t give such a penalty in the quarter-finals. Excuse me , it’s not my fault,” the Munich leader got angry.

At this point in the game, the German club led 2-1, before falling behind just ten minutes later.
