Arráez seeks to close April above .300 points

Luis Arráez has been recovering little by little from a difficult first month of the season with the wood. It had been strange not to see him among the group of players with a .300 average and now, he seeks to close April above that line to continue demonstrating his quality as a contact hitter in the best baseball in the world.

In fact, in his last five games he is hitting .400 (8-for-20); the best among the Creoles in that period, with a double, three runs scored and a walk. Additionally, he has six multi-hit games – including two with at least three hits – in his most recent 10 games.

However, closing April above .300 points (in the season, of course), would allow him to keep intact a streak of two consecutive seasons hitting above that line until now after the end of the month of April. At the moment, he has a .303 average; product of 37 unpickables in 122 shifts. He also had six doubles, a triple, three RBIs and 16 runs scored in 30 games.

In his first 20 games in 2022 he combined for .318. While, after 25 games in 2023, Yaracuyano’s offensive explosion occurred, averaging .438; in a campaign in which he flirted with .400 for a good stretch of the year and ended with the highest average since 2010.

These data, of course, tell us about Arráez’s rigorous preparation for his seasons and how this has helped him to currently be among the best hitters in baseball.
