In the world of French basketball, the name of Armel Traoré is starting to make noise on the Betclic Élite courts. At only 21 years old, the ADA Blois winger aims to make the big leap to the NBA, the most prestigious basketball championship in the world.

According to information reported by Jonathan Givony of Draft Express, Traoré has declared for this year’s Draft, thus adding a new French hope to the list of NBA candidates. Before him, Noah Penda, back of Vichy in Pro B, and Adam Bal, center of Santa Clara University, had made the same approach. Other French talents such as Melvin Ajinça and Tidjane Salaün are also projected to be selected in the draft rounds.

Originally from Créteil, Traoré has proven himself on the courts of Betclic Élite, where he has been playing with ADA Blois since last summer. This season, he is posting solid stats averaging 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25 minutes of play per game. Despite his performances, his team is struggling at the bottom of the rankings, occupying 17th place in the standings. Arrived last summer from the Mets 92 where he played with Victor Wembanyama and Bilal Coulibaly, who joined the NBA this season, Bilal Traoré seems much more ready than last year.
