Molfetta-Fasano. The searing defeat in Matera, a week later, brings with it a legacy of regrets, but provides many certainties in view of the last two rounds of the single Serie C regional championship and the play-offs.

Molfetta, Rosario Saracino: «In Matera we simply did what had to be done: we set up and led the match, once again an unmistakable sign that when we all play united and as a team we are very fearsome», he said.
President Solimini’s men arrived in the city of the Sassi, in the big match of the day, with very clear ideas from the first moments of the game: Pavimaro uncontainable, certainly beautiful – perhaps the best of the season – and overwhelming until the 36th minute. «Then it is clear that in such a tight match – continued the red and white director – some unfortunate episode, but I avoid any type of controversy, becomes decisive. And, unfortunately, this happened.”
Molfetta, with just two days to go before the end of the regular season, sits in fourth place, with 30 points, -2 from the tandem formed by Matera and Castellaneta, both on 32, and -6 from the leaders Canusium, with 36 points. Starting from the end of the month, these four teams will compete in the promotion play-offs for a place in the inter-regional Serie B.
Winning to make up for the defeat in Matera. First, however, the regular season must be concluded, at home with Fasano, and in Mesagne. «Now – continued Saracino – we have Fasano and Mesagne to conclude the single C series regional championship and since the four positions on the grid are not yet definitive we will have to work well».
On the horizon, now, there is the challenge with Fasano (the guests are ninth, in the bottom of the table) in the presence of a team, that of coach Serrano, which the experts have defined as “albiceleste”. In fact, there are three players of Argentine origins in the squad: Acuna, who in his first season in Italy is averaging 21.6 points per game, Quarone (11.9 points per game) and Paparella (10.5 points per game).
Other points of reference for the team are certainly Feruglio (13.5 points per game) and Argento (9.6 points per game). Molfetta, however, will want to say goodbye to the red and white fans, before the start of the awaited post-season, with a victory (it would be the sixteenth), also and above all to forget the final minutes of Matera: «However, despite the defeat, personally in Matera I saw the play-off team – Saracino concluded – and I am sure that whoever will face us is certainly not calm.
