The event was sold out: two hundred individual competitors and one hundred couples at the start. The start, at 9.15am, from the central Corso Italia: the first part of the race, dedicated to runners, lasted 7 kilometres, with 560 meters of positive difference in altitude, up to Rio Gere. From here, space for ski mountaineering for the second and final part of the race: from Rio Gere the competitors went up to the Capanna Tondi refuge (676 meters of altitude difference), and then descended to the Faloria refuge (233 meters of negative altitude difference) where the final goal and where the pasta party and final awards ceremony also took place (also carried out thanks to the support of North Face).

On an individual level, Daniel Antonioli confirmed himself as king of the Alpinathlon: the man from Valtellina from the Army Sports Center won the event for the third time, finishing his effort with an overall time of 1h11’29”. Behind him the South Tyrolean David Innerhofer, 3’40” behind, and on the third step of the podium the Spaniard Felipe Bravo Nuñez, at the finish line with a delay of 8’09”.

In the women’s category, success went to the runner and ski mountaineer Maria Dimitra Theocharis: the Friulian girl of Greek origins, who in recent days participated in the Ski Mountaineering World Cup Finals proposed by the Cortina Foundation wearing the Greek tracksuit, won in 1h27’53”. Behind her, Martina De Silvestro, from Belluno, winner of the first two editions of Alpinathlon. 3’40” gap between the two. Kristel Mottin from Vicenza completed the podium, more than 10 minutes behind.

As regards the relays, in the men’s field the Army Sports Centre, with the pair Sergio Bonaldi – Manfred Reichegger, won the challenge with the financiers Lorenzo Cagnati – Fabio Pettinà, prevailing by less than a minute: 55 seconds which in the end separated the two teams. Completing the podium was the Cadore tandem composed of Nicola Pais Bianco and Manuel Da Col, third, 2’46” from the top.

As for the female couples, success for Francesca Perrone and Cecilia De Silvestro ahead of Gloria Pellissier and Noemi Junod (Army Sports Centre) and Marianne Moretti and Linda Menardi from Cortina.

Finally, among the mixed couples, Giulia Pol and Christian De Riz were in front of everyone. On the second and third step of the podium Nicolas Ploner and Heidi Dapunt and Benedetta Polentes and Nicola Botter.
