Right from the start, Alexander Zverev had to fight for his serve game, but was able to fend off Francisco Cerundolo’s two break chances. A balanced duel then developed, with no significant chance. Only when the score was 3:4 from the German number one’s point of view did another break chance arise, which the Argentine took advantage of and then missed to win the set.

In the second set, the next break opportunity arose in the third game, which Zverev again couldn’t fend off. The Hamburg native tried to fight back with a set and a break, but was unable to really penetrate his game against the 22nd in the world rankings, who was in a good mood.

Zverev can’t find a way

In the end, Alexander Zverev couldn’t find a way to turn the match around. With the second match point, the Argentine ends the game and thus ensures the elimination of the fifth in the world rankings.
