After the athletes swore to respect the regulations and their competitors, to represent their establishments with effort and honesty and to accept defeat with dignity in the Games, the Regional Ministerial Secretary of Sports, Arling Guzmán, referred to the importance of this competition:

“As the Government of President Gabriel Boric and Mindep-IND, we are very happy to organize the most important school sports competition in the country, where our young people live new experiences and grow in their personal and social development through sports practice, with more and better opportunities for participation and competition. The School Sports Games are the breeding ground for athletes, who will represent us in the different national and international competitions.”

Diego Cortés, physical education teacher at Colegio San Francisco de la Selva, indicated his motivation to participate in these Games: “We want to compete in a good way in this championship that the IND offers us. We signed up for swimming, men’s futsal, women’s basketball, chess, mountain biking and athletics. We participate because it is a super important instance for our students where they can develop fully in sport and can also share with other educational establishments.”

One of the students participating in these Games is Joaquín Marambio, an eighth grade student at Los Estandartes School, who said about this new experience: “This is the first time and I like it a lot. I play chess and practice 2 times a week and also at home. I like this because I can share with other schools and people.”
