The MLB’s recent plague of pitcher injuries has caused a massive shift on the Cy Young betting board.
While Corbin Burnes remains the favorite in the American League at +550, Spencer Strider’s elbow injury means there is a new leader in the National League.
The Philadelphia Phillies’ Zach Wheeler opened the season with the second-highest odds to win the award in the NL at +900 but has since overtaken Strider as the leader at +450. Strider’s odds now sit at +3000.

Closing the gap on Burnes in the American League is Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal at +650.
Prior to the start of the season, FOX Sports MLB analyst Ben Verlander named Skubal as one to watch in the AL.
“Skubal has all the elements in place for a breakout 2024. He’s a left-hander whose fastball can hit triple digits. He’s been lights out so far in spring training. His advanced metrics were off the charts last year, thanks in no small part to that incredible strikeout-to-walk ratio.”
In two starts, Skubal currently has a 1-0 record with 15 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.92.

On the National League side, Dodgers pitcher Tyler Galsnow’s odds to win the award have improved from +1400 to +900.
Glasnow has stepped into the ace role for the Dodgers and hasn’t disappointed.
He currently leads the league with a 3-0 record and 29 strikeouts and holds an ERA of 2.25.
In his most recent outing, Glasnow stuck out a career-high 14 batters against the Twins.
